ATLANTA – Libertarian candidate Chase Oliver welcomes the departure of President Joe Biden from the race, saying that the 81-year-old could not bring the energy nor the new ideas that the country needs.
“After the debate in Atlanta, it was clear that Joe Biden didn’t have the stamina to wage a campaign,” says Oliver, 38. “Whoever replaces him is sure to have more energy, but sadly will still be pushing solutions that will grow government, raise taxes, and inhibit liberty at home and abroad.”
President Joe Biden announced today that he will not pursue re-election, a decision that reflects concerns about his age and capacity to lead effectively, amplified by widespread dissatisfaction with his recent debate performance.
Biden endorsed his vice president Kamala Harris to take his place on the ballot.
“It is only natural that Joe Biden is trying to promote his vice president to the top of the ticket,” Oliver says. “After all, it was Biden’s ’94 crime bill that made Harris’ political career possible.”
Oliver and his running mate Mike ter Maat view Biden’s decision as an opportunity to redefine America’s future trajectory. They advocate for a robust and inclusive debate on policy solutions that reflect the aspirations and concerns of all Americans.
“Congratulations, America! We outlasted the corruption of a system favoring party control and personal power over constitutional duty and democratic principles,” says ter Maat, who served as an economist in the White House Office of Management and Budget. “I’d like to say this is the last time we will see a president try to hang on to power for too long. But being the second time in as many cycles, we remain wary.”
