OLIVER SEEKS RESTRAINED GOVERNMENT THAT STOPS STEALING OUR FUTURE

ATLANTA – Libertarian Chase Oliver identifies spiraling federal debt as what is harming the prosperity of all Americans, and printing money has accelerated inflation that worsens the pain.

“When the government prints trillions of dollars out of thin air, it devalues the dollar that is in your wallet, that devalues the dollar that you take to the grocery story to fill up the grocery cart, the dollars that you use to pay your rent, the dollars that you use to run your business. And it’s time for that to stop,” says Oliver at the Free & Equal Debate.

“We have to be brave enough to say no more debt and deficit spending, no more government out of control, and no more violence here at home or around the world, and certainly not at the expense of the U.S. taxpayer.”

Oliver, 38, participated in his second Free & Equal debate on Friday, July 12, at FreedomFest in Las Vegas. His stances boil down to his mantra combining personal freedom with empathetically and voluntarily caring for our neighbors.

“I’m somebody who is going to fight for the free-market solution, for the freedom solution, for the right of all people to determine their own future,” Oliver says. “If you’re not hurting anybody with force, fraud, coercion, theft, or violence – your life is your life, your body is your body, your business is your business, and your property is your property. It’s not mine, and it sure as hell isn’t the federal government’s.”

Oliver won the first round of ranked-choice voting in a poll after the debate. Other presidential candidates who participated were Jill Stein (Green Party) and Randall Terry (Constitution Party).

Christina Tobin from Free & Equal and Rep. Thomas Massie, R-KY., moderated the adults-in-the-room debate: Candidates gave answers that matched the questions, they treated each other respectfully when they disagreed, and they cheered each other on when they agreed.
