OLIVER CALLS ON ISRAEL & PALESTINE TO PUT DOWN GUNS, EXTEND OLIVE BRANCH

ATLANTA – Libertarian candidate Chase Oliver called today for a ceasefire and a renewed commitment to peace in response to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s recent address to Congress and the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

“It is not wise to be pro-Israel or pro-Palestine when both sides have suffered such pain, loss, and death due to the untenable failure of leadership on both sides,” says Oliver, 38. “It is time both Israel and Palestine show good faith, put down their guns, and extend the olive branch, whose trees grow wild in the region.”

Oliver criticized the ongoing violence and the lack of effective leadership on both sides of the conflict. His call comes amidst heightened tensions and protests both in the U.S. and abroad, sparked by Netanyahu’s recent speech and the escalating humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

“Brave men and women – both Palestinian and Israeli – are seeking a peaceful resolution. These are not presidents, parliamentarians, or generals, but concerned citizens who see their neighbors as their brothers and sisters, regardless of their ethnicity or religion. It is these voices that we must listen to and support.”

In response to Netanyahu’s speech, President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris reiterated their support for Israel while expressing concern over the humanitarian situation in Gaza. Harris emphasized the need for an immediate ceasefire and a resolution to the hostage situation: “While we stand firmly with our ally Israel, we must also address the humanitarian crisis and work towards a peaceful resolution that respects the rights and lives of all individuals involved.”

Trump, known for his close relationship with Netanyahu during his presidency, has not publicly commented on the specifics of the recent address. However, sources close to him suggest that he remains focused on his past assertions of being the most pro-Israel president, despite a strained relationship with the Israeli leader in recent years.

Oliver, a long-time anti-war activist, stresses that the U.S. should play a constructive role in facilitating dialogue rather than perpetuating the conflict. His campaign platform emphasizes a commitment to reducing military intervention and promoting diplomatic solutions.

“The American people deserve a leader who is anti-war to the core and dedicated to fostering a peaceful solution for all parties involved,” Oliver says. “As President, I will work tirelessly to bring about a ceasefire and support a fair and lasting resolution to this crisis.”

Oliver became the first Libertarian presidential candidate to campaign in all 50 states, and is the only candidate in the 2024 field to do so.
